View Kudditji Kngwarreye's Biography and Curriculum Vitae

Kudditji’s captivating works take us into the vast landscape of his Alhalkere Country, and often beyond it. His confidence and his extraordinary use of colour, made him a master of his craft.

A subtle change in the light outside will cause the different colours of his works to light up in the forefront, whilst others recede. Specks of brilliant orange, violet, blue and yellow, all seem jostle to dance in front of the canvas as conditions change.

Kudditji has been represented in a number of international exhibitions and achieved significant recognition for his unique style. Recently, the ‘My Country’ paintings gained international attention, having been successfully represented at the Arken Museum of Modern Art in Copenhagen.

Up to his last days, Kudditji continued to paint his powerful and bold imagery with passion and commitment.
