Elizabeth Mbitjana Biography and CV

Elizabeth Mbitjana Portrait Delmore Gallery
Elizabeth Mbitjana an Anmatyerre woman and the talented daughter of Kathleen Kngale. She has developed her own style which is quite different to her famous mother's technique. Elizabeth is quiet and shy, and for many years stayed in the background looking after her mother while she painted at Delmore Gallery.

Several years ago, Don Holt noticed that Elizabeth had painted something very interesting on some discarded linen and immediately gave her a stretched canvas to "have some fun". The results were quite special. Elizabeth is painting beautiful veiled dotted works and continues to develop her talent, painting her wild Bush Plum Dreaming as she was taught by her mother, but in her own style.

Her father is Paddy, a respected elder, and she has one brother, Matthew.
